Festival season is well under way and Coachella is is upon us. Seeing all the fab fashion and live feeds inspired me to put together a little piece about festival inspired weddings.
If the usual themes just aren’t doing it for you and you want to celebrate your big day in a different fashion then this one may be for you.
The best thing about a festival wedding is (within reason) the location can be pretty much any where. Our favorite option for venue is this spectacular wedding tipi from www.mytipievent.co.uk These guys were the winners of the Kent Wedding Awards 2016.
If you decide to hold your wedfest in traditional festival style one thing you cannot forget is portaloos. However, its your big day and trying to squeeze that dress in a cramped smelly portaloo isn’t my idea of fun. If you are in need of facilities for your festival then check out someone like www.poshpotties.co.uk
If you are having a festival inspired wedding you certainly cannot rely on ordinary invites and place settings. I looked around on the web for a while hunting down some ideas for different wedding stationary and came across wedfest. These guys specialise in wedding festivals and have some fantastic ideas. My top picks are this festival headliner themed table plan and the invitation lanyards.
Festival Favours shouldn’t be tricky there are so many great ideas we love the idea of WedFest wrist bands like these
at Not On The Highstreet
or how about these temporary tattoos, these go down an
absolute treat at any event. Tattoos like these rose gold ones can be bought from ETSY
Either set these glow sticks out with your place settings o
r have a glow stick station like this one pictured on the right. The great thing about these glow sticks is they can be purchased from most discount stores and supermarkets, which means they can be a really cheap but really effective.
The most important wedding festival fashion item has to be the wedding gown. The great thing about a festival themed wedding is any thing goes. You can have a dress as formal, boho, casual, different or eccentric as you desire. There are some beautiful examples of festival boho bridal here at Indie Brides my top pick is this maxi length skirt with train is fully lined with polyester, has a figure defining waist panel and concealed side zip. The Jean skirt is pictured here with the Celia top
Wedding hair is really down to personal preference, flower crowns are a huge hit and the bonus of a boho wedding means minimalist long curls are the ideal style. However if your looking for something a little different then stay on trend with some cool large braids and a glitter parting.
One more thing not to forget is festivals are all about the music. So be sure to have some great entertainment throughout the day and evening.
